Police: Mom Was On Computer When Baby Was Found In Tub

DENVER (CBS4) - Muriel Keer appeared in court Thursday morning. She is being held on investigation of child abuse resulting in death of her infant son.

Keer, 39, has not been formally charged, but it being held on $100,000 bond.

Police said officers were called to the 2700 block of East 33rd Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on a report of an infant not breathing.

According to the statement of probable cause, 10-month-old Aldrich Leathers was found floating in an overflowing bathtub by a man in the home. The infant was rushed to Presbyterian St. Luke Medical Center by an ambulance, where he was pronounced dead at 10:47 p.m.

The man who found the baby was among three other adults in the home at the time. He told officers that Keer was sitting in the kitchen working on the computer when he found Aldrich.

Keer is on probation for drug-related offenses.
