Immigrant Rights Group Accuses School Of Profiling
CARBONDALE, Colo. (AP) - An immigrant rights group is accusing Carbondale's school resource officer of using his position to report students for possible immigration violations.
The Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition says Carbondale Police Officer Alvaro Agon is working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to identify undocumented immigrants.
According to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent, an attorney for Agon says the allegations are unfounded.
The coalition says Agon's involvement with immigration authorities also included operations in Basalt, Glenwood Springs and Rifle.
