Police Search For Gunmen Who Robbed A Home Depot

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Aurora are searching for two men with guns who stormed into a Home Depot store and forced customers and employees to the floor.

It happened at the Home Depot located in the 14000 block of Mississippi Avenue near Interstate 225 at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The robbers were wearing ski masks.

Employees were scared and nearby businesses are on alert.

"That's pretty scary and I think it might be a sign of the economy," said Elgin Cahill, the general manager of an eyeglass store that shares a common parking lot with the Home Depot that was robbed. "Unfortunately, this may not be as safe an area as it used to be which is definitely a concern."

While interviewing employees about Thursday's robbery, CBS4 cameras caught a man running out of the store with what employees claim were stolen items.

Thursday's robbery was the second of its kind in the area in recent weeks. Two weeks ago, armed robbers hit the Walmart on Exposition Ave. It's unclear the two incidents are related.

Police believe the suspects got away in a white Nissan Pathfinder. They believe there could be as many as four suspects involved in the Home Depot robbery.
