After 5 Years, Colorado Cat Found On Manhattan Street

NEW YORK (CBS4) – A calico cat from Colorado has turned up alive and well in Manhattan following a five year journey.

Willow hadn't been seen since running out of her house during a renovation half a decade ago.

Thanks to a microchip implanted when she was a kitten, animal control workers were able to get in touch with the cat's owners in Boulder who are now making arrangements to bring her home.

Willow was found Wednesday on East 20th Street. It is unclear how she traveled 1,600 miles.

Julie Bank, executive director of Animal Care & Control, told the Associated Press that Willow is healthy and probably has not been living on the streets very long.
