Police Search For Puppy Snatcher

THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Thornton are on the lookout for a puppy snatcher who took two dogs with a combined value of more than $2,200. It happened at the Pet Ranch on 120th Avenue on Monday at about 12:50 p.m.

An employee of the pet store said she was distracted by two customers at the back of the store while a woman was seen at the front of the store with two puppies in her arms.

When the employee looked back, the woman was gone and so were the two puppies. The dogs are described as a male Yorkshire Terrier, black and tan in color, valued at $1,299 and a Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix, black in color, valued at $799.

The Thornton Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect. If anyone has any information, they're asked to call Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867.
