Irene Alters DU Student's Journey Back To School
DENVER (CBS4) - Hurricane Irene made getting back to school difficult this week for a University of Denver student.
Lindsay Cone, a member of the skiing and golf teams at DU, was scheduled to get a flight to Denver from New England and had to hike out of her hometown on a trail.
Every road leading in and out of Killington, Vt. has been damaged by debris, or completely washed out by Irene's torrential rainfall.
When a CBS News crew caught up with Cone she was wearing a DU sweatshirt and rolling her luggage down a muddy trail.
Cone eventually arrived safely in Denver.
