Ski Company Assessing Labor Requirements
ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - Aspen Skiing Co. is trying to figure out how to comply with requirements by the National Labor Relations Board not to interfere with advisory boards or committees for ski instructors.
The National Labor Relations Board says the company was potentially in violation of labor laws by having management representatives participate on various committees for ski instructors.
According to the Aspen Times, those boards or committees are considered labor organizations, which management isn't supposed to influence.
Skico Vice President Jim Laing sent a letter to instructors last week telling them changes will be necessary.
