DENVER (CBS4)- This weekend may be the best time to see the Perseid Meteor shower in Colorado.

The Perseid Meteor shower is one of the most observed in the world. It’s peaking Friday night into Saturday.

CBS4 Meteorologist Dave Aguilera reports on the best way to view the meteor shower. Watch his report below.

Dave said the meteor flares seen are rocky debris left behind from the swift-tuttle comet. The debris measures about the size of a grain of sand to a pea and hits the earth’s atmosphere at about 36,000 miles an hour.
