Adams County Cutting Back On Housing Inmates

AURORA, Colo. (AP) - Budget cutbacks are forcing the Adams County Jail to reduce the number of Aurora prisoners in the county jail from 25 to four.

Aurora police chief Dan Oates says he is very concerned about how the decision will impact crime rates and quality of life in his community.

According to the Aurora Sentinel, Adams County Sheriff Doug Darr is cutting about 40 Adams County Jail staff members, which is why he is allocating only 30 bed spaces to municipal offenders for misdemeanor charges.
