Father Of NBA's Jason Smith Killed Near Greeley
AULT, Colo. (AP) - The father of NBA player Jason Smith has been killed in a car accident.
The Colorado State Patrol says 67-year-old Jack Smith was killed Wednesday after he failed to stop at a stop sign near Greeley, Colo.
According to the Greeley Tribune, his minivan was broadsided by a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Roberto Mendoza-Armenta, who suffered moderate injuries.
Smith was the 20th selection in the 2007 NBA Draft by Miami, which traded his rights to Philadelphia. He played two seasons with the 76ers and spent last season with the New Orleans Hornets.
