Eagle County Commissioners Want Railroad Access

EAGLE, Colo. (AP) - The Union Pacific Railroad is asking Eagle County commissioners to hold off on an open space purchase until a dispute over railroad access is resolved.

County officials say they don't need the railroad's permission.

According to the Vail Daily, commissioners plan to spend $690,000 on property along the Colorado River for a public boat launch. The deal is scheduled to close Thursday.

The railroad's lawyers said this is the first time they heard about it.
