About 240 Air Force Cadets Sickened By Stomach Flu

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP/CBS4) - The U.S. Air Force Academy says about 240 cadets have been sickened by the stomach flu.

The school said Tuesday that some cadets have recovered and returned to basic training. However, about 180 are still in isolation at one of the academy's two dormitories. They're being given oral and intravenous fluids and anti-nausea medication.

CBS4 Medical Editor Dr. Dave Hnida talked about the outbreak on CBS4 News. Watch his report in the video below:

No cadets have been hospitalized.

The ill cadets are among the 1,100 members of the incoming new class who arrived at the academy for training last month.
