CU Hospital Gets Another Big Honor

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - University of Colorado Hospital has received a big honor.

A new U.S. News and World Report study just named CU Hospital the best hospital in the Denver metro area. The hospital earned high marks in several areas, including pulmonology, nephrology, rheumatology and cancer treatment.

President and CEO Bruce Schroffel says its new facility in Aurora helps, but it's the staff that makes them the best.

"We have just such an outstanding faculty who do their teaching and research and patient care," Schroffel said. "And at the same time do the kind of cutting edge clinical trials that you can't find any place else in Colorado."

CU Hospital was also recently named among the Top 10 academic hospitals in the country.
