Frontier Airlines Releases Photos Of Hail Damage To Planes
DENVER (CBS4)- Frontier Airlines has released photos of the damage Wednesday's hail storm caused to their fleet. Several Frontier flights were cancelled out of Denver International Airport on Wednesday and Thursday because of the hail damage.
Peter Kowalchuk, the Director of Corporate Communications for Republic Airways Holdings & Frontier Airlines, said most of the damage was on the horizontal surfaces, like the tops of fuselages and wings. There was also damage on the wing flaps.
In a statement, he said, "It is extensive and far beyond the damage allowed for airworthiness."

Some of Frontier's aircraft were flown to other cities for repair, others are being fixed in Denver. Additional maintenance personnel from other Frontier and Republic Airways units are assisting with the repairs. Frontier has additional aircraft coming back into service on Friday and Saturday to help alleviate the flight delays and backups.
"We will continue to evaluate our schedule and provide updates to our customers via our website and social media channels (facebook and twitter)," said Kowalchuk.
