Man Dies After Struggle With JeffCo Deputies
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - A 34-year-old man has died following a struggle with sheriff's deputies in unincorporated Jefferson County.
Jefferson County sheriff's officials say the struggle happened early Tuesday when deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Officials say the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs and became violent with deputies who subdued him and also with medical staff called to the scene.
The man stopped breathing while in the ambulance and was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Additional details were not released, including the man's name.
Sheriff's officials say they have asked the Lakewood police and the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office to help with the investigation.
