Romer-Mejia Campaign Signs Cause Confusion

DENVER (CBS4)- Some Chris Romer mayoral candidate campaign signs are causing a lot of buzz around Denver. The signs read, "Romer. Mejia United For Denver."

James Mejia ran in the May election and just missed making it into the runoff election. Mejia endorsed Romer over opponent Michael Hancock.

Political analysts believe the yard signs make it appear as though Mejia is a running mate, which mayoral candidates do not have.

"Well, it's certainly out of the box. Now, out of the box to some people might smack of desperation and to others as creativity, but it is definitely an out of the box tactic," said political analyst Eric Sonderman.

The Hancock campaign said the Romer campaign should be more upfront with voters about what Mejia's name on the signs means.
