Tornado Warning Expired For West Central Adams County
ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- A tornado warning for west central Adams County in northeast Colorado 3 p.m. Wednesday.
At 2:28 p.m. the National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a possible tornado near Commerce City, about eight miles northeast of Denver. The storm was moving northeast at 15 miles per hour.
Locations in the warning included but were not limited to Barr Lake, eastern Thornton and Commerce City.
Officials say marble-sized hail has been falling northwest of Denver.
The National Weather Service said the hail was 2 to 3 inches deep on the ground in Thornton Wednesday. The hail was no bigger than three-quarters of an inch in diameter.
Authorities say a cold front Wednesday morning brought in cooler air combined with moisture, helping create funnel action in the atmosphere.
