Jefferson County Cuts May Mean More Mosquitos This Summer

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Budget cuts in Jefferson County could mean more mosquitos this summer.

The Jefferson County Health Department said it will no longer test standing water or spray for mosquitos on any property not owned by the county.

Typically, the country has sprayed for mosquitos in city parks and private industrial areas.

The health department said the most effective way to avoid mosquitos is to get rid of all standing water.
