Group Wants All Denver Businesses To Offer Paid Sick Days
DENVER (CBS4) - There's a new push under way to require all businesses in Denver to offer paid sick days for employees.
On Monday members of "9 to 5," the National Association of Working Women, held a rally on the 16th Street Mall. They started a campaign to collect signatures to land an initiative on the Denver ballot this November.
They say nearly 40 percent of Denver workers don't get paid sick days.
The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce told CBS4 they have historically opposed mandates on benefits packages, preferring to allow businesses to craft their own.
