Crystal Fire 100 Percent Contained
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Fire officials say a wildfire west of Fort Collins that destroyed 13 homes is now fully contained.
Fire managers say several crews are leaving and that 126 people are assigned to the fire, compared to more than 300 at the fire's height. Crews are mopping up and patrolling the area.
The fire in northern Colorado started April 1 and spread quickly when high winds hit, burning about 4.5 square miles.
A team will begin efforts to control soil erosion and sediment and debris runoff from hillsides denuded of vegetation.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
