Man Sentenced To Prison For Deadly Road Rage Incident
BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4)- A man convicted in a deadly case of road rage has been sentenced to six years in prison. Travis Smith was sentenced on Thursday for criminally negligent homicide and prohibited use of a weapon.
Witnesses told police in Broomfield that Smith fired a gun into another car in November 2009. They also said both drivers engaged in a back and forth type of aggressive driving.
The other driver, Justin Maggard, was shot in the chest and died.
Smith said he didn't know his gun was loaded and drew it only to scar Maggard.
