Fired Denver Police Officers Challenge Termination
DENVER (CBS4)- Two Denver police officers who were fired last month have appealed that ruling. Former officers Devin Sparks and Randy Murr lost their jobs in connection with a beating caught on tape.
They were fired for filing inaccurate reports about what happened.
On Tuesday, April 5, they challenged their termination with the Denver Civil Service Commission. The officers said their termination was not supported by the "preponderance of evidence."
They also claimed that the Denver Manager of Public Safety, Charles Garcia, did not have the jurisdiction to fire them because they had already been disciplined by the former manager of safety.
