DA Won't Pursue Death Penalty In Boulder Murder Case
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - A man arrested in the death of a University of New Hampshire football player last month will not face the death penalty.
Kevin McGregor, 22, is in the Boulder County Jail without bond.
The district attorney said he decided not to pursue the death penalty after consulting with the Boulder Police Department and the victims' families.
If convicted on the murder charges could spend life in prison.
Police say he shot and killed Todd Walker.
Walker, from Edwards, was visiting a female friend at the University of Colorado. The two were walking to her home after a party near campus.
Investigators say Walker died while protecting the woman.
