Overnight Parking Now Allowed In Downtown Denver

DENVER (CBS4) - Businesses and visitors to downtown Denver have been asking for it -- being able to leave a car on the streets all night long.

New signs started going up Monday on streets and parking meters explaining how the overnight parking system will work.

Parking will cost 50 cents an hour from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday nights on only one side of each street. On the weekends parking will be allowed on both sides.

Drivers used to get a parking ticket if they left their car out after 2 a.m. downtown.
