Aurora Police Search For Suspect After SWAT Incident

AURORA (CBS4) - A SWAT situation in Aurora Tuesday afternoon resulted in no arrests and the search for the suspect continues.

Police were called to the 1700 block of North Blackhawk Street around noon on a domestic violence incident.

"The female half was contacted outside the apartment and she stated that her boyfriend was inside by himself and was believed to be armed," Sgt. Cassidee Carlson with Aurora police said in a statement. "Officers went to the door and thought they heard a male's voice and loud noises from inside."

Carlson said a SWAT team was called out and area residents were evacuated and schools were placed on lockdown.

"Negotiators were able to have short conversations with the male. SWAT was able to make entry into the apartment, but nobody was located inside," Carlson said.

Officers searched other addresses for the suspect but have been unable to locate him.

Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora police.
