Aspen Skiing Co. Raises Lift Ticket Price To $104

ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - Lift tickets in Aspen have passed the $100 mark for the first time.

The Aspen Daily News reported Tuesday that the Aspen Skiing Company is charging $104 for a walk-up, single-day ticket.

The price for a single day lift ticket was $99 in December and the company said then it would not exceed the $100 mark.

However, the company said it then re-evaluated the competition and business climate. It raised the price over two weeks ago during the President's Day Weekend.

Vail charges $105 for last-minute ticket purchases.

Purchasing a last minute, one-day ticket is pricier than buying a multi-day package in advance. Most customers opt to buy in advance.
