Teen Accused Of Pointing Handgun At School Bus

ALAMOSA, Colo. (AP) - A teenager has been arrested on charges of pointing a handgun at an Alamosa school bus carrying elementary and middle school students.

The teen was arrested Friday. His name hasn't been released.

The Alamosa Valley Courier says students on the bus reported seeing the teen point a handgun at the bus from a car on Thursday.

Police say they weren't told of the incident until Friday, when the father of one of the school bus passengers reported it.

The teen was being held on suspicion of menacing, delinquency and possession of a deadly weapon on school grounds.

Alamosa School Superintendent Rob Alejo says no threat with a weapon occurred school grounds, an apparent contradiction with one of the charges. The discrepancy could not immediately be explained.
