Man Crushed To Death By U-Haul Identified

DENVER (CBS4) - A man who died after a moving truck rolled on top of him on Saturday morning has been identified.

Denver police are calling Benjamin Dodt's death a tragic accident. It happened at the Public Storage off Leetsdale Drive. Two men were inside the truck when one got out to type in the security code to open the gate. That's when the U-Haul truck started rolling.

"He went inside for a minute, saw his vehicle was rolling, went to stop the vehicle, slipped on a patch of ice and got trapped between the vehicle and the wall of the facility," Sonny Jackson with Denver police said.

Dodt, 26, was pinned against the side of the building. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
