King Soopers Creates Entertainment For Little Shoppers

DENVER (CBS4) - King Soopers is hoping to lure more parents in for grocery shopping. The chain is now offering carts packed full of entertainment for the kids.

The high-tech carts have a small TV screen inside a little car so kids can watch a movie while parents shop.

King Soopers said shopping with kids is never easy, so they're hoping the added entertainment will keep the little ones busy while mom and dad navigate the aisles.

"They're very simple to operate. You simply walk up, you pick the movie that your child would like to watch, you push that number and you're off," King Soopers spokeswoman Kelli McGannon said.

The carts are available in all metro area King Soopers stores, but there are only three at each store. The carts are smaller than older kiddy carts and shoppers cannot take them out of the store.

Shoppers need to put their groceries into another cart to wheel them to their car.
