Sunflower Markets' CEO Arrested In Child Prostitution Sting

PHOENIX, Ariz. (CBS4) - The founder of Sunflower Markets is facing charges of child prostitution.

Michael Gilliland, 52, was one of eight men arrested during a child prostitution sting in Phoenix. Police say they arrested Gilliland after he arrived at a hotel. They say Gilliland planned to meet what he believed was an underage prostitute. He had met the girl online.

Gilliland founded Wild Oats markets in the 1980s. He also started Sunflower Markets in 2002. There are several stores in the Denver metro area.

Gilliland was featured as CEO of the Year last year on the cover of Colorado Business Magazine. He lived in Colorado, but now owns a home near Phoenix.
