Written by Meteorologist Jennifer ZeppelinThe arctic front that blasted across Colorado Monday night took a bite out of temperatures this week.

The high temperature Tuesday at Denver International Airport made it to only 8 degrees. This temperature tied the record low high for Feb. 8 set back in the 1933.

The single digit highs for the day didn’t even occur in the afternoon — they actually took place just after midnight.

This is the second time in the last couple of weeks that Denver has experienced some of coldest afternoon highs ever.

On Feb. 1 DIA only reached -1 for a high. This broke a record low high of 2 degrees set back in 1985.
