Skiers And Boarders Prepare For Big Air In Denver
DENVER (CBS4)- Skiers and snowboarders will be launching into the sky over Denver in just a couple of days.
Denver Big Air is a two day international ski and snowboarding event. It kicks off the huge SnowSports Industries America Snow Show at the Colorado Convention Center that begins on Thursday.
Big Air opens with the Nature Valley Big Air Challenge on Tuesday, where some of the best male skiers in the country take to the ramp.
That's followed by top male snowboarders from around the world for the International Ski Federation's LG FIS World Cup Snowboard Big Air on Wednesday.
The Big Air ramp is in Civic Center Park. It measures 100 feet high and 300 feet long.
Some 200,000 pounds of snow was made or trucked in to cover the ramp.
A crowd of 10,000 is expected to watch the events. Tickets cost between $45 to $100 per session.
