Golfers Take Tennis Balls To Frozen Course
EVERGREEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Golfers took their tennis balls to the course on Evergreen Lake on Sunday for the 1st Annual Evergreen Ice Golf Tournament.
Golfers also had to wear cramp-ons because the frozen surface of the lake was so slick.
Holes are drilled into the surface and bright flags marked the target for golfers.
Some golfers said this kind of play definitely raises your handicap.
"I tend to hit the ball a little harder when I hear the ice crack underneath my feet than when I'm playing a normal round of golf," said ice golfer Justin Owens.
The tournament benefits developmentally disabled adults through the Blue Spruce Kiwanis Club. They hope to continue the event every year.
