Go Backstage With Cirque Performers

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4)-- Cirque du Soleil returns to the metro area Wednesday night, but minus the big top. This time, Cirque has transformed "Alegria" into an arena show in Broomfield.

The first time the show performed in Denver, it was in 2002 under the big top in the Pepsi Center parking lot. Now you can see it on stage at the 1st Bank Center.

"People walk in the door and think they know what they are going to see, but it's always changing so in the end, they don't know what to expect," said Alegria's Artistic Assistant Sheryl-lynne Valensky.

"We don't need to set up a tent, we already have a building. Concessions are here. Everything is ready so we can come in and play one week in a smaller town," said Valensky.

Alegria is onstage at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield through Sun. Jan. 23. Ticket prices are available through Tickethorse for $35-$90 a piece.
