FBI Man To Run State's Public Safety Office
DENVER (CBS4) - CBS4 has learned incoming Gov.-Elect John Hickenlooper is set to name a veteran FBI agent as the next executive director of Colorado's Department of Public Safety.
Multiple sources familiar with the selection process tell CBS4 Hickenlooper will name Jim Davis, the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Office in Denver, to head the CDPS.
The Department of Public Safety is currently run by Kathy Sasak, who was appointed to the position by Gov. Bill Ritter in August 2010.
The Colorado Department of Public Safety oversees the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the Colorado State Patrol, the Colorado Division of Criminal Justice, the Division of Fire Safety, the Office of Preparedness and Security and the Colorado School Safety Resource Center.
Jim Davis has been with the FBI since 1985. He was named Special Agent in Charge of the Denver Division of the FBI in 2008.
