Police Body Is Missing Snowmass Man
ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - Aspen police say a body found under a bridge is that of a Snowmass Village man missing since last month.
Police say the body was found Monday by off-duty members of Mountain Rescue who were following through on a pledge to continue looking for 28-year-old George Aldrich.
Aldrich's body was found under the Maroon Creek Bridge near a bus stop where he was last seen on Nov. 27. On Tuesday the coroner reported Aldrich died from injuries sustained from a fall from the bridge.
Aldrich was originally from Cranston, R.I. The Providence Journal reports that his father is the director of admissions at Providence's La Salle Academy. The school issued a statement thanking everyone who supported the family during the search.
