'Shots For Tots' Celebrates 100th Event

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Children and adults lined up for free vaccines on Saturday. It's all part of the "Shots for Tots and Teens" program.

Saturday marked the 100th event for Aurora. The fire department holds Shots for Tots every month. Children can get a range of vaccines all at low or no cost.

Adults also had the chance to fight the flu by getting a free shot.

"We received some free vaccine from the state health department that we can give to adults for free, so it's just easier to do the entire family at once instead of sending the adults to a different clinic," Bryce Andersen with Tri-County Health said.

Shots for Tots started in 2002 and has helped vaccinate almost 8,000 children.
