Husband Of Hit & Run Victim Makes Plea

DENVER (CBS4) - Doctors have upgraded a pregnant woman hit at a Denver crosswalk from critical to serious condition. Her husband is now asking the driver that hit her to come forward.

Laurie Gorham was 34 weeks pregnant and her baby boy died from the crash. She was hit Thursday night by an SUV at the intersection of Central Park Boulevard and East 29th Avenue.

"Laurie is fighting through this, and just please pray for her," Gorham's husband Pete Sherlock said. "This has been a tragic situation and the events of the past few days are truly overwhelming."

Sherlock's grief has touched so many in the Stapleton neighborhood.

"It's so tragic, but Father I would pray that they have peace," a neighbor prayed.

"Words cannot express the outpouring of kindness and support our family has received," Sherlock said. "We hope everyone will keep Laurie in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
