Irving Safe Haven – Saving Lives, Rebuilding Families:
The Irving Safe Haven is a Volunteers of America program and facility providing assistance to women who are chronically homeless, struggling with a disability, and have nowhere else to turn. The shelter offers individual and group counseling, housing referral assistance, access to mental health resources, and life skills education. Every woman receives case management and develops a plan with her case manager; women stay at Irving until they are confident and ready to live independently. Irving Safe Haven offers each women a private or shared room, three meals per day, intensive case management, support groups, special holiday events, and assistance with income, benefits, and housing acquisition when appropriate.
Each woman residing at Irving Safe Haven has access to an assigned case manager and develops and works towards her goals on an individualized timeline.
