Now that your spring cleaning is done, it’s time to look at the carpet. Colorado winters and heavy, slushy spring snowfalls can cause a lot of dirt and muddy snow to be trapped in your carpet. Denver area carpet specialists provide several different solutions to fit your individual budget and needs. Below are things to consider when deciding whether or not to recarpet your home.

1. Replace or clean?
First, decide if your carpet needs to be replaced or if it just needs a deep cleaning. If your carpet is old and you want to make a change, this is the perfect time to do so. A clean carpet greatly improves the look of a home. If recarpeting is what’s decided, decide whether you want to have it installed professionally or tackle the project on your own. On the other hand, if your carpet is relatively new, it just might need a good, deep cleaning to make it look better than ever.

2. Choose a color.
An important step for recarpeting is to complement the carpet color with your walls to create a living area that is relaxing and soothing. If you decide to go with something totally different, painting the walls to complement the new carpet is an option, but be sure to do this before the carpet installation to prevent spilling paint on new flooring. You can think about painting the entire wall, one accent wall or only the trim.

3. Decorate in complementary colors.
Last, but certainly not least, be sure that you have curtains or shades to complement the carpet and wall color in your room. If you have a pet, consider installing shades will help hide pet hair. Also look at drapery that will keep your room cooler during the hot summer months and trap heat in the winter.
