Obon Odori is a dance in the Buddhist and Japanese traditions. This dance, which honors one's ancestors, will be performed at the annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Denver in June. Along with the traditional Obon Odori, there will be several other dances showcasing Japanese traditions, so there will be plenty to enjoy. Of course, this huge festival will also feature plenty of music, food and crafts for you and the whole family. Just be sure to catch the end of the festival on Saturday night, when the Obon Odori will be performed.

The Aerial Dance Over Denver company is a unique dance company that teaches the skill of aerial dance – using silks or hoops. The Aerial Awards Competition will award eight performers and five professional performers during an evening filled with lots of high-flying dance. The Awards will be presented at the end of the show, letting you cheer on your favorites. This fourth annual show is also a fundraiser for Community-Minded Dance, an organization dedicated to foster the next generation of dancers in Colorado through dance and music education. The show features a host of internationally acclaimed dancers that will be highlighting the dance history of North and South America. There will be dinner by Epicurean Catering and a cash bar plus a silent auction with lots of items from local artists and businesses. There will also be plenty of music and dancing featuring John Dokes and the George Gee Swing Orchestra. Don't miss this huge celebration of dance in Denver.

It is the story of a mysterious island that is governed by a goddess and the cycles of the moon. It tells the tale of Prospera, their queen, who directs her daughter's coming-of-age ceremony when a storm brings a group of young men to the island. Prospera's daughter falls in love with a young man and the couple faces a host of trials before they can be together. It is all told through the magic and excitement that only Cirque can bring. This is one performance that everyone will want to attend.
