"Boring" is not a word you will ever hear associated with Voodoo Doughnut. The names of their creations alone are enough to give any artist a run for his money. Their signature treat is, of course, the Voodoo Doll doughnut, a raised yeast donut in the shape of a voodoo doll, filled with raspberry jelly and topped with chocolate frosting and a pretzel stake. Other creations are far more wild in both taste and name - check out the Bacon Maple Bar, The Loop (covered with Fruit Loops), the Memphis Mafia (fried dough covered with banana chunks and cinnamon with a glaze of chocolate frosting, peanut butter, peanuts and chocolate chips - whew!) and so much more. The Mexican Hot Chocolate is a perfect cake donut treat.

If you're looking for something a little classier and more date-night out, then Sugar Mill might be your best bet for the night. Besides some yummy desserts on their menu, Sugar Mill is also known for their fresh brioche donuts. And while those may not be "untraditional," the way they are presented certainly is. Most often, they are prepared on a plate with 2 scoops of ice cream, warm caramel sauce, chocolate sauce and candied nuts. You can also get them in donut hole form and combine them with coffee and ice cream.
