While some may consider them copycats, cover bands are actually an instrumental part of the music industry. While they may not always be playing what's hot right now, they help us enjoy timeless classics that you may have never gotten the chance to hear otherwise. And thankfully, they're professionals, and not just your average Joe butchering "Don't Stop Believing" in a karaoke bar. So if you're looking for a spot to see some great cover bands in the Mile High City, check the calendars at these venues to see who's rolling through next.

A musician owned and run venue, Herb's is one of the best spots in the city to catch live music of any kind. They have live shows just about every night featuring tons of great local talent, as well as other smaller performers that make their way through Denver. And yes, they do host cover bands from time to time, so check out their live music calendar here and see who's stopping by next.

Another popular hotspot to see local talent, the Larimer Lounge is a great place to catch cover bands from around the city. With shows seven nights a week, it's easy to see why Ziggie's is one of Denver's most popular live music venues. They're known as Colorado's oldest blues bar, and their performers tend to cover anything from rock, blues, and funk, to the hits of mo town and other upbeat genres. Although Red Rocks is known for hosting sold out shows for some of music's biggest names, it's also one of the better places in town to catch great cover bands. They come through few and far between, however the bands that do stop here put on quite the show. Nationally renowned acts like Killer Queen and Brit Floyd have already made their way through the amphitheater this year, with others, like Get The Led Out still to perform. Again, cover bands don't normally stop by the famous amphitheater, however their really isn't a better place to hear timeless classics re-done by professional musicians.
