So you've enjoyed your New Year's Eve celebrations appropriately, and you wake up on New Year's Day with an empty stomach and a bit of a hangover. What to do? Head out for some brunch, of course. Ring in the new year with your family and head out to one of these great brunch spots. Each offers a cure for that morning hangover. From greasy bacon and carb-filled pancakes to healthier alternatives like eggs and salads, there are lots of options to cure your hunger. Plus, you can usually get a bit of the "hair of the dog" and enjoy a Bloody Mary or mimosa, though you'll probably want to head home and take a nice long nap afterwards.

Sassafras American Eatery is located in a quaint historic home in north Denver. It's a small and doesn't take reservations, so make sure you have plenty of time to wait for a table.But the wait is totally worth it with great twists on classic country kitchen fare. The banana custard brioche French toast is a popular choice  as are the different Benedicts including fried green tomato Benedict or the cajun Benedict. And you might not think of it as breakfast food but be sure to save room a milkshake, you'll start your day with one of the best in town.

For a great brunch option in the Westminster area, try Early Bird Restaurant on Bradburn Boulevard.
