What to do when January 1 rolls around? It’s time for brunch of course. You’ve got the day off, so grab the family and keep your holiday going with an amazing meal and just enough grease to help calm that pesky hangover. Brunch has quickly grown to become the most popular meal at many local restaurants, as each works to show off its own style and skill by presenting some of the most amazing and clever dishes around. Besides, when else can you enjoy bacon, pastries and vodka in the same meal? If you need a little brunch inspiration, here are five fantastic Denver-area restaurants that would be the perfect place to enjoy your New Year’s Day brunch.

Beast + Bottle
719 E. 17th Ave.
Denver, CO 80203
(303) 623-3223

This Uptown eatery is known for taking the concept of “farm to table” one step further. Not only do sibling owners Paul and Aileen Reilly ensure that their ingredients are sourced from Colorado farms but they have special relationships with the farmers themselves, bringing truly fresh vegetables, fruits and meats to their tables. The Reillys even get their eggs from a local flock at Cottonwood Creek Farms in northeast Colorado. The brunch menu includes lots of fantastic treats like pumpkin waffles, deep fried brioche French toast and incredible eggs Benedict. Make sure to order a mimosa or Beastly Bloody to perfectly complement your New Year’s brunch.

Lola
1575 Boulder St.
Denver, CO 80211
(720) 570-8686
www.loladenver.com

Enjoy your first meal of 2015 infused with the flavors of coastal Mexico. Lola’s menu features dishes inspired by the regions of Oaxaca, Baja and the Yucatan Peninsula, with a rich, contemporary feel to all of its specially crafted dishes. Go classic with the Lola Huevos or splurge a little with the Chicharron benny, which includes pork belly and a delicious chipotle hollandaise sauce. There is even a lobster green chile omelet with delectable butter poached lobster. You can also get oysters on the half shell, fresh ceviche and some of the sweetest doughnuts you’ve ever had. If you want a cocktail with your brunch, you’ll love the Michelada Pop or the Ultimate Bloody, which is served with chile poached shrimp, bacon, house-made pickles, spicy asparagus and cheese. It’s a whole meal in a very large glass.
