For years, people who want to scout out a few deals and jump start their Christmas shopping have risen before the crack of dawn on the day after Thanksgiving to hit the stores. Black Friday is a great time to scour bargain bins and save some cash on your holiday shopping list. If you are up for the challenge, then fire up your engine, grab some coffee and head to one of these shopping centers to find some great steals. While you’re at it, pick up something for yourself too – after all, you’ve earned it.

With retailers such as H&M, Forever 21, Barnes and Noble, Bare Escentuals and more, along with entertainment options such as Lucky Strike Lanes, United Artists Theaters and Jazz at Jax, there is a broad selection from which to choose. For the fashionista on your list, stop by H&M or Forever 21. Last year, H&M offered several popular items for $5 each, along with 30-70 percent off store merchandise. While you’re in the neighborhood, pick up some movie theater gift cards as stocking stuffers or take advantage of spontaneous sales at Barnes and Noble. Last year, the book store offered discounts on its Nook Simple Touch and other merchandise.

Get into the holiday spirit while shopping and admiring the snow-capped Flatirons. This outdoor shopping center has a great selection of stores to choose including Sephora, Macy’s, lululemon and Nordstrom Rack. If you are shopping with the kids, take advantage of the Drop-and-Shop kids’ play area. For $10 for two hours, your children can run around and play in the indoor, supervised play area while you shop. In 2011, Sephora offered several $10 specials on items that would make great stocking stuffers. While Nordstrom Rack already offers great prices on designer merchandise, on Black Friday, it has offered 25 percent off specials and $50 gift cards for $25.

This shopping center offers residents in the north metro area a one-stop center for whatever they need. With retailers such as Super Target, Ulta, Aeropostale, Victoria’s Secret and JCPenny, among others, there will be plenty of deals to enjoy. Last year, shoppers were able to take advantage of great deals starting at midnight at the Target store, as well as early-bird specials at JCPenny. With such a diverse assortment of stores, you can find gifts for several people on your list in one trip. Set the alarm (or simply don’t go to bed) and head over to the Orchard to shop ‘til you drop.

If you are an early riser but don’t really want to go out in the wee hours, Aspen Grove is a place for you. In previous years, retailers at this shopping center have held off on the deals until between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. This is perfect for people who want to take advantage of deals and a little sleep. Aspen Grove’s selection of stores includes Pier 1 Imports, Gap, Origins, J.Jill, Torrid, Pottery Barn and See’s Candies, among others. Gap’s previous Black Friday deals have up to 60 percent off of store merchandise. The Children’s Place has offered 40 percent off of merchandise. This is the perfect place to stock up on sweaters and other clothes for the kiddos without spending all of your money.

With several shops and restaurants, along with an outdoor ice rink, you can definitely ignite your holiday spirit while you shop. Stores in this mixed-use shopping center include Target, Bath and Body Works, Cold Water Creek, Best Buy and Hobby Lobby. You are certain to find the perfect gift and supplies you may need to make some gifts as well. Best Buy typically offers great deals on electronics and accessories, so stop by and look for some of your big-ticket items. For stockings and smaller gifts for teachers or coworkers, Bath and Body Works offers several coupons and discounts. This shop is also known for its VIP gift bags, so stay tuned to see what will be in them this year.
