Drink(credit: Ellen Marchman Larkey)

Cinco de Mayo has long been a tequila-fueled celebration in the United States in honor of Mexico. Historically, May 5, 1862 was El Dia de la Batalla de Puebla (Battle of Puebla), Mexico's victory over French troops. As May 5 is a Monday, many of Denver's top Mexican restaurants are honoring Cinco de Mayo beginning Friday, May 2. Saludos!

Cinco de Mayo celebrations will include infusion shots on the house for groups of six or more, $5 margaritas and $3 bites during happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m.

With décor reminiscent of a Mexican hacienda and cozy bar seating around a fire pit, Cinco de Mayo revelers will be flocking to its daily happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Check out the "Fresh Sheet" on the restaurant's website at the beginning of May for Cinco de Mayo specials.
