Top Pumpkin Patches Near Denver

It's finally that time of year; leaves are changing color, the nights are getting cooler and that cold autumn chill is starting to fill the air. It also means Halloween is right around the corner, so you'll need to find the perfect pumpkins for you and your family to carve. What better place to find them than a pumpkin patch? In Colorado, we have a plethora of pumpkin patches where you will surely be able to find a perfect pumpkin. Plus, most patches have added attractions and specialities the whole family can enjoy. Here are some of the best patches in the Denver area to visit this Halloween season.

The Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms location puts on a wonderful three-day festival from Friday, Oct. 9 to Sunday the 11th. There is a massive patch of pumpkins perfect for plucking, as well as many different attractions like pony and hay rides, face painting, a mini maze and much more. A free pumpkin daycare is also available, giving you the freedom to explore the rest of the grounds. Be sure to check out their awesome 8-acre corn maze
as well.

Maize In The City is full of attractions and fun for the entire family, starting with their Crazed Corn Maze. This spectacular 20-acre corn field is one of the best in the state and will have you twisting and turning for up to an hour. If you have pumpkins on your mind though, check out the free pumpkin patch. Here you will find pumpkins in all shapes and sizes, ranging from $1-20, or more for the larger ones. For the kids, there's a bouncy castle, a mini maze, a petting zoo, an obstacle course and much more.

Cottonwood Farms is another great place to take the family for a fun day trip. Admission to the patch is free, and you can even borrow a little red wagon to wheel the kids around in. Check out their other great attractions, such as the corn maze, the smaller straw bale maze and the steam engine. Also, be sure to take a hayride while you're there. You'll get a bird's eye view of the grounds, as well as breathtaking views of the changing colors across the front range.

Flat Acres Farm is one of Douglas County's best autumn attractions and this year will be even better with the new addition of a jump pad. Along with this, they also have the traditional pumpkin patch, a giant bale maze, a haunted monster maze and many other games and activities the whole family can enjoy. Be sure to take plenty of photos, as they will have photo ops set up throughout the grounds as well.

Mile High Farms is located off of the I-70 and Manila Road exit, about 30 miles east of Denver. They have the traditional attractions, including three different mazes for various ages, a petting zoo, a pumpkin patch, hay rides and much more. The pumpkin patch is massive, and they even let you carve your own pumpkins on the premisses. Their mazes are cut to resemble some sort of image as well, and they do a really good job (check some of the images out here).
