Top Places To Play A Game Of Pick Up Basketball In Denver

Get out and enjoy Colorado's beautiful weather all over Denver with a game of pick-up basketball. These games are a great way to exercise, meet new people and relieve everyday stress. Denver is one of the most physically active cities in the U.S. and parks are plentiful, but getting a game together can be a huge pain. Hop in on the games featured at these fun area venues right next door for heart-pumping action any time.

Colorado Athletic Club hosts pick-up basketball games daily Monday to Friday from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; Monday and Wednesday from 4:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Reservations are not required but a membership package is.

Washington Park sits on more than 165 acres and includes two lakes. It features a public, free, full basketball court with three netted hoops. Two of the hoops are opposing to make a full court. Games run pretty constantly, but are most common outside of standard work hours.

20th Street Gymnasium is one of Denver's 27 recreation centers throughout the city. For around $150 per year, you can use the gym for all of your exercise needs, including pick-up basketball. This is a great place to meet people who want to play and form new teams, and the gym schedules games throughout the week.

Eastmoor Park's 14 acres are free and public, located in a quiet neighborhood with convenient on-street parking. This recreation area has a trail, shelter areas for picnics, a playground, basketball court and soccer fields. It is child and pet friendly and is a great place to try out your basketball skills on a team of locals.

Southmoor Park

Southmoor Park is 17.5 acres of free, public trails, softball fields, soccer fields, a playground and basketball court. When visiting a park, be sure to bring your own basketball, plenty of water and the kids, who can easily play under mom and dad's watchful at the sporting fields right by the courts.
