Top Martin Luther King Day Getaways Near Denver

Martin Luther King Day is Monday, January 19 which means you've got a three-day weekend coming up. Sure, you could use that time to relax around the house, maybe take in a movie or take a drive with the kids. But why not use that extra day off to enjoy a quick weekend getaway? Whether you are looking for a romantic escape with your sweetheart or you need a family-friendly vacation for the whole gang, there are lots of places to enjoy scattered all over the beautiful state of Colorado. You may need to drive for a couple of hours to truly get far away from the big cities, but once you arrive at your destination, it will all be worth it. Here are a few suggestions of great weekend getaways for you to enjoy during your long Martin Luther King Day weekend.

A trip up to Rocky Mountain National Park is always a great way to spend a long weekend near Denver. Grab the whole family and set out for the highest suspension bridge in the country. The Royal Gorge Bridge is a great place to visit for an amazing experience. While you are in Canyon City, you can also enjoy some of the many other fun attractions that are available, weather permitting, in the area.
